Privacy policy
Last updated 28 April 2026.
Short version: Hourly does not collect any data about you. There are no accounts, no telemetry, no analytics, and no third-party trackers in the app. Everything you log stays on your Mac.
What the app collects
Nothing. Hourly has no analytics, no crash reporter, and no usage telemetry. The app does not contact any server owned by me — or anyone else — during normal use. There are no accounts, so there is nothing to sign up for and nothing to sign into.
Where your data lives
All time entries, projects, tags, and settings are stored locally on your Mac in the standard application support directory. They never leave your device unless you export them yourself or choose to enable an optional sync provider in a future release. If you delete the app, your data is gone with it.
Network requests
Hourly does make one kind of outbound request: a periodic check for new versions of the app. That request hits a static endpoint and is not tied to any identifier — your IP is the only thing the host sees, and no logs are kept beyond what the hosting provider does automatically. You can disable update checks in the app's preferences.
The support form on this site
If you fill in the form on the support page, your name, email address, and message are stored so I can reply, and a notification email is sent to me. That data is kept only as long as I need it to handle your question, and is never shared, sold, or used for marketing. Spam-protection (Cloudflare Turnstile) may briefly process your IP address; see Cloudflare's privacy policy for the details there.
This website
ninokroesen.com and ninokroesen.nl run lightweight first-party analytics to count page views. No third-party trackers are loaded, no advertising IDs are used, and your IP address is hashed before it is stored. You can opt out by enabling Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser — both are honoured.
Changes
If this policy ever changes in a way that affects you, the change will be noted at the top of this page. Older versions are kept in the site's git history.
