# Privacy policy

Last updated 31 October 2026.

Short version: there is no account and nothing to sign up for. Sounds are generated on your device and stay there. If you allow it, the app sends anonymous counts of which sounds and screens get used, and a crash report if something breaks. Either can be switched off in Settings, and one button deletes everything the app has stored.

## What leaves your device, if you allow it

Two things, both optional. **Anonymous usage counts** are events with a fixed set of fields, never an activity log: which screen opened, which sound played (its id and category, whether it is a paid sound, how many sounds were playing), how long a sound played **rounded into 1, 5, 15, 30 or 60-minute buckets**, mixes saved and applied, the kind of tone plus a **frequency range rather than the exact frequency**, purchases started, completed or failed with the product id, and which onboarding steps were completed. There is no advertising ID, no device identifier we set, no location, and nothing that links these events to a person. Durations are bucketed and frequencies ranged on purpose: an exact listening time or an exact frequency is close enough to a fingerprint to be one.

## Crash reports

If the app crashes, Crashlytics sends the stack trace, the device model and OS version, and the app version. That is what makes a crash fixable.

## Purchases

If you buy a sound pack or leave a tip, the transaction goes through Apple's or Google's billing, and RevenueCat is told the resulting receipt so the app can tell what you own. RevenueCat sees an anonymous app user id and the receipt, not your name and not your payment details, which the store never gives to the app. Purchases are one-time; there is no subscription.

## What never leaves your device

Your onboarding answers (including what gets in the way), favourites, saved mixes, recently played, and your volume and fade settings all stay on the device. The app never asks for your name, your email address, or anything else that identifies you. No audio is recorded or uploaded: sounds are generated on the device.

## Your choices

Settings → Privacy has a switch for usage counts and a switch for crash reports. Both take effect immediately, and anything already queued is dropped. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the app asks before collecting anything: both switches start off and nothing is sent until you answer. Elsewhere both are on by default and can be turned off at any time. Settings → Your data → Reset all data deletes every local store; purchases are not deleted, because they belong to your app store account and come back on their own. Analytics events are not linked to you, so individual events cannot be pulled out of the set: there is no identifier to search by. Uninstalling stops anything further being sent; email me if you want the events deleted wholesale.

## Who processes it

Google (Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) receives the usage events and crash diagnostics. RevenueCat receives purchase receipts and entitlement state. Apple or Google processes payments under their own privacy policies. None of them receive your name, email address or contact details from this app, because the app never has them.

## This website

ninokroesen.com and ninokroesen.nl run lightweight first-party analytics to count page views. No third-party trackers are loaded, no advertising IDs are used, and your IP address is hashed before it is stored. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are both honoured.

## Children

The app is not directed at children and collects nothing that identifies anyone, of any age.

## Changes

If what the app collects changes, this page changes with it, and the app version that made the change says so.
